Humanities library

The library's collections reflect the variety of teachings and courses of study, doctorates and Master’s degrees, areas and research centres of the departments in the humanities campus: Letters, Philosophy, Communication, Foreign Languages, Literature and Cultures, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The Humanities Library has over 155,000 volumes (books and journals) and subscribes to 470 journals, 250 of which are in electronic format.

A rich selection of physical collections is placed on open shelves and available in the reading room. The rest of the library collections are located in storage rooms at S. Agostino.

There are 91 workstations with network connection and a power supply in the reading room. There is also a study room on the same floor as the reading room that accommodates another 18 seats.
It is not just physical collections that the library provides to support the teaching and research activities of its users.

To access online content, you can browse the site’s electronic resources pages or perform a search with BiGsearch to retrieve articles and magazines, books and eBooks, videos and dissertations, case studies and papers.

 

ALASCA Foundation

At its headquarters in via Pignolo 123, the ALASCA Foundation’s library not only provides access to specialised collections and funds, assets which have mostly been given to the University of Bergamo, making it a documentation centre of national importance for the study of cinematography, it also opens its reading room with 18 seats to students.
