The Department of Letters, Philosophy, Communication brings together scholars from different fields of research in shared interests and a common passion for multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary comparison. 

The Department’s activity is motivated by the desire to create a new research reality in the academic landscape, capable of combining skills ranging from humanities, philological and literary studies, to historical, philosophical and epistemological studies right up to skills in the field of communication sciences. 

The Department assumes a strategic commitment to:

• Maintain the positions of excellence it has obtained - starting from the results of the Ministerial Research Quality Assessment
• Improve its competitiveness in all areas of study of interest
• Build a range of scientific collaborations by promoting participation in international research projects and supporting the presence of Italian and foreign faculty members in the Department through the use of visiting professorships and fellowships
• Expand the social impact of research in the different fields of activity of its Professors and Researchers, in the spirit of dialogue and discussion with the international scientific community and renewed attention on the linguistic, artistic and historical-cultural traditions of the local area
